Biography

John B. Brennan is a criminal defense attorney and the founder of The Law Office of John B. Brennan, with offices in Marlton and Princeton. He represents people facing criminal charges throughout South Jersey, drawing on more than 35 years of legal experience to defend clients in cases ranging from municipal court matters to the most serious felonies.

Mr. Brennan began his legal career in 1989 as an assistant prosecutor with the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, where he served for 25 years. During his time there, he tried more than 100 felony cases and resolved thousands of others through negotiations in the Superior Court of New Jersey. His trial work included cases involving murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault, arson, armed robbery, bias intimidation, burglary, and sexual assault. As a member of the office’s Major Crimes Unit, he was responsible for all gun-related crimes for more than a decade.

In 2014, Mr. Brennan opened his own practice to represent people accused of crimes. After decades inside the criminal justice system, he understands how intimidating it can be for one person to stand against a prosecution backed by the resources of the government, and he brings both compassion and his full effort to every client he represents. He uses his firsthand knowledge of how criminal cases are investigated, charged, and negotiated to build defenses for his clients. He is also well regarded by attorneys on both sides of the courtroom, including many who once faced him as adversaries.

Mr. Brennan is Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Criminal Trial Attorney. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and he handles cases in the Superior Court of New Jersey and municipal courts throughout the state.
